The comprehension and
full integration of the scientific realities into an eternal reality is far beyond anything that will be attempted
in this book. While there will be times when it becomes relevant, for the most part, this book is interested in
clarifying the nature of eternal reality from a spiritual standpoint.
From a purely theological perspective, Mormonism provides a better integration of the best learning of the world
with the divine revelation than any other Christian theology. The theology of the LDS church provides for answers
to questions that other Christian churches dare not even ask. Much of the explanatory power of Mormon theology
lies in four principles which are not recognized by mainstream Christianity. It is the power of these four principles
which creates a fundamental definition of the things as they really are which is more powerful than any
other. They set Mormonism apart in its ability to interpret eternal reality in its earthly guise.
The four principles which underpin Mormon theology are: the Principle of Eternal Existence, the Principle of Eternal
Uniqueness, the Principle of Eternal Progression, and the Principle of Eternal Law. Each of these provides a fundamental
cornerstone of Mormon theology which is unique in all of Christianity. Each of these provides a theological understanding
of the eternal reality which helps to make sense of the chaotic multiplicity of life we see all around us. |
